HALUS... Harapan Lulus

At first the students who are selected to join are bit reluctant because they feel embarrass..

There are 2 programs running in the school to increase the % of PMR - ETP (Excellence Target Program) & HALUS.

Those under the ETP are proud yeah they are those bright students anyway. While the HALUS students are totally the other way round.

After pondering why my HALUS are reluctant to join, i found out that they are like that because:

shy

stubborn

peer influence

mind-setting

&

the most important things is

they don't really get the attention of the school admin

The ETP students got their program launched, get food in every lesson, free books, took pictures with the school admin...

The HALUS students... NONE~~~

I'm involved in both the programs, honestly I like to be in HALUS lesson because those who are there, they really put their effort, they try their very best. As the director of the program, I thought this is going to be a failure but it isn't.

Now I'm so proud of them, they can spell English words, use appropriate vocabularies in their writing, try to communicate in English with us (English teachers). They are not snobbish like the ETP students...

We managed to make them eager to come to their HALUS lesson because

how my nephew learns ENGLISH

my dearest ARYAN NABIL just can't move once he is watching this movie..

FUN way to learn ENGLISH for babies... Aryan starts to watch this since he was 1 year old, now he is 1 year & 7 months.. few ENGLISH words he can utter very well like 'daddy, oh no!' many more words & expression inside d movie..

AGE is not a LIMIT!!! EXPOSE D BABIES - THEY WILL ENJOY IT.. DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THEIR ABILITY...

just finished a course today - inspiring course. to the dearest speakers of ELTC - you have my undying gratitude..

I was a teacher who always believe that my teaching should not be an exam-oriented lesson BUT the desire of my principal to achieve the mission of my school: SMK MADAI CEMERLANG 2011 influenced me not to make my lesson fun & meaningful.

everyday I woke up by thinking how to teach my students how to answer their exam paper. Lesson is all about writing to get high marks, understand comprehension to get the answers, literature to memorize questions & answers...

I came to the course & told d speakers that all I want from the course is NEW EXAM FORMAT since we have new syllabus.. I might be the only one who wants it from the course.. EMBARRASSING...

after the course.. I'm feeling like I'm REBORN...

My dear principal, please allow me to teach ENGLISH, NOT TO teach HOW TO ANSWER ENGLISH EXAM PAPERS..

ENGLISH IS SUPPOSED TO BE FUN & MEANINGFUL TO THEIR LIVES..

they can only feel that English is FUN now!!! NOW!!! during school time...

My dear students, will let you all experience how FUN ENGLISH can be... I believe from having fun we can still answer well during EXAM or might be better...
